Our Mandate

Supporting the University's thrust of academic excellence

The Business Library’s general function is to select, acquire and make available the library materials and information services to our clientele.  We support the curriculum, research and extension functions of  the faculty. We answer the needs of faculty members who are actively engaged in the frontier  of academic research, in line  with the University’s thrust of achieving the highest level of academic excellence and the School’s role as a leader in the field of management education.

Aside from the electronic resources offered by the UP Main Library, the Business Library also offers access to the following electronic resources which are limited to VSB Library:

  • Thomson Reuters Eikon

  • Thomson Reuters Datastream

  • Wall Street Journal Online

 

The number of users who can simultaneously access them is limited. Just approach anyone among the staff for assistance.

Overdue Fee (fees are per every overdue book)

  • P2.00 per day, excluding Sundays and holidays for Circulation materials.

  • P5.00 per hour or P50.00 per day (including Saturdays and Sundays)

 

Research Fee

  • UP students, faculty, REPS(Research, Extension and Professional Staff) and administrative staff - Free

  • UP Alumni and government researchers - The first five days are for free, subsequent visits would be for P20/day  

  • Graduate students from other schools and private researchers - P50/day.

 

Internet Fee

  • UP students - P20/hour; a fraction of an hour is rounded off to a whole hour

  • Faculty - Free; 

  • REPS(Research, Extension and Professional Staff) and administrative staff - P20/hr.

  • UP Alumni, government/private researchers - P50/hour; a fraction of an hour is rounded off to a whole hour

 

Printing Fee

  • P5/page for black and white documents, color printing is not available
